We conduct research studies on stock market anomalies and investment strategies. Our research identifies key factors of outperformance and underperformance. We focus our research on applied quantitative techniques for systematic stock selection.

Blackhorse Analytics uses a data-intensive approach to investment decision making, relying on sophisticated, proprietary databases to evaluate the performance of investment methodologies, and to produce ongoing research and stock selection tools. We also provide personalized quantitative services for clients, such as customized research, model development, factor backtesting, and performance measurement and attribution.

About the Principal

Blackhorse Analytics was founded by Scott Huffman. Scott has more than 25 years experience in investment management and financial research. He has worked with individual and institutional clients throughout North America, Europe, and Asia.

Scott specializes in quantitative investment research and earnings quality analysis. As a portfolio manager and director of quantitative research, he has designed, tested, and implemented equity investment strategies for hedge funds, asset management firms, and mutual funds. His research has been featured in various U.S. and foreign publications, including The Wall Street JournalFinancial TimesBarron’sBusinessWeekFortune, Capital, and on CNBC and the PBS TV program “Wall $treet Week.”

Scott holds an MBA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business (Chicago, Illinois) and a BS in Engineering with concentration in Economics from the United States Military Academy (West Point, New York). He received the CFA Charter in 1998 from CFA Institute (membership from 1998 to 2017).
